Qarase Handed 12 Months Sentence by Illegal Regime Judge

"Fiji and its people are destined for a prolonged period of one man rule under the current dictatorship. Their future and very existence as a people are now at a crossroad. Unless they decide and act to seize it back, they must prepare to bear the brunt of living under prolonged servitude in a military-controlled state."

Newsbreak!

A Sri Lankan, sitting as Judge in Fiji's High Court, has just sentenced Fiji's legal Prime Minister to 12 months in prison.

 The sentence follow Qarase's conviction for trumped-up charges dredged up by the illegal regime in the sordid attempt from rid him from Fiji's political scene. These were allegations way back before Qarase was even in politics. That was how desperate Bainimarama and his illegal regime were just to pin Qarase with mud in order to drag him down.

In fact, former senior military officer Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara told Radio Tarana the regime has been working to incarcerate Qarase, the leader of the SDL party.
“This was planned in 2007 after the 2006 takeover in December. This proposal was put forward by Khaiyum (illegal Attorney General) that Qarase and Chaudhry be behind bars. So it’s a deliberate attempt to stop them from contesting the election.”
Dictator Bainimarama, his egotistical Attorney General and all those who have profited from the treasonous act of removing Qarase and his government from power back in 2006 must all be celebrating today. To them there is no irony nor injustice in the fact they are all roaming free and dishing out favours via government salaries and appointments knowing full well a properly constituted Fiji Court of Appeal had held their rule to be illegal.

The people of Fiji know all about this monumental injustice and the decaying nature and filth in which the government of Dictator Bainimarama has sunk to. They may be quite for now but they will never forget. They will bide their time and mark this down in their memory banks until they are ready to come out to rid Fiji of Dictator Bainimarama, his illegal regime and numerous sycophants, some masquerading as civil servants, like the three assessors who convicted Qarase no doubt aware of the wholly political nature of the charges.

They, like all their colleagues in the civil service in Fiji today, would not dare return any contrary ruling for pain of losing their livelihood. May they all be shamed to their dying days for lacking the intestinal fortitude to do what was right in the eyes of any justice-minded citizen.
Dictator Bainimarama - Guilty yet running free!

All that the regime is doing now is scheming and pretending to attain a semblance of legitimacy to its illegal rule in order to keep itself in power for a long time to come. That is why it will:
1. bulldoze in a new constitution where all native Fijian institutions are neutralised or reduced in significance;
2. dictate a permanent place for the military as custodian of government rule;
3. push to have an executive-type president as in Indonesia, with Dictator Bainimarama as President appointing his cabinet; and
4. enlarge and consolidate powers within a unitary state controlled from the middle.

Fiji and its people are now destined for a prolonged period of one man rule under the current dictatorship. Their future and very existence as a people are now at a crossroad. Unless they decide and act to seize it back, they must prepare to bear the brunt of living under prolonged servitude in a military-controlled state.

Yet in keeping with Qarase's humble and peaceful nature, the SDL party leader released the following statement yesterday:

Dear Friends and well wishers

I wish to express to you all my deepest appreciation of your tremendous support, encouragement and best wishes during my High Court trial.

The sentencing by the Court will be delivered tomorrow, 3rd August, 2012.

Whatever the court decision I thank God for his blessings upon all of us and for your support.

I also wish to thank the many prayer groups, individuals, and families, both in Fiji and abroad, who have been praying for me, my family and for Fiji during this difficult period.
God Bless you all and God Bless Fiji.

Vinaka Vakalevu.
Laisenia Qarase
