Unelected PM and Dictator
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said he may stand in the 2014 general elections and he said he is also confident that if he stands in the elections, he will win.

Commodore Bainimarama also said people like former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase can also stand but he stresses that the electoral system will not be race based.

The Prime Minister has told Sky News that he will make the final decision on whether he will stand in the elections after the constitution and electoral process is complete.

Commodore Bainimarama will announce details on the constitution consultations later this week.

But Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry has told Radio NZ yesterday morning that the constitution process announcement is a bluff as it was promised that the announcement would be made in February.

He also said that promises are not being honoured.
He said changes in  the Constitution are only required in the electoral provisions. Chaudhry said he had opposed the communal based voting system.
