No split in the Military says Tikoitoga as Internal Discord Grows

Fiji Live News - 7 March 2011

There is no split in the Fiji Military says RFMF Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga.

Speaking to FijiLive in an exclusive interview Col. Tikoitoga said he knows that the military is working with the Commander Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

“I am aware of where those critics are coming but I know for a fact that everybody is together in the military,” he told FijiLive.

“No I doubt that there’s a split in the military.

Everybody is focused on working with the Commander of RFMF and Brigadier Aziz Mohamed in trying to take the RFMF forward and all the officers are committed to doing that.”

Colonel Tikoitoga denies that there are more criticisms against the military’s work than praises.

“There’s a few that goes on blog sites and we can’t take those people seriously but the Commander when he moves around to villages and other areas, he gets a lot of praises for this government and what it has been doing.

“You know the civilian community are coming out strong and saying there is a better government than what it was before.” He said

Colonel Tikoitoga added that even some provinces now are calling for the cancellation of the 2014 elections and that’s indicative of what the government is doing.
