CHIEFS of Tailevu presented a traditional show of support for Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama this week, in the lead up to the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting.
Presenting a tabua (whale's tooth), Ratu Tu'uakitau Cokanauto told Commodore Bainimarama that Rome was not built in a day, and there was no need to rush things through to the election.
He said those who attempted to derail the work of the government should be taken aside to allow the country to move forward.
Ratu Tu'uakitau said the tabua signified support from all people in the province and removed any lingering doubts they once potrayed over the years.
Among those who attended the meeting yesterday were Bau chiefs Adi Samanunu Cakobau, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau and Ratu George Kadavulevu, alongside various chiefs from the province.
Commodore Bainimarama also had a face to face session with those who had longstanding grievances.
He visited the Waimaro Supermarket in Korovou Town and a dairy farm owned by Tailevu Provincial Council at Viwa along the Kings Highway.
