Assassination Plot was Military Ploy: CRW Soldier

Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, February 25, 2010

A former CRW soldier told the Suva High Court yesterday that the plot to kill Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama was actually a Military ploy to entrap him and his colleagues.

Former CRW soldier Feoko Gadekibau said he believed that military intelligence officer Peniasi Kuli was being sent directly from the Military camp to try and tempt the CRW boys into carrying out the assassination plot.

Gadekibau said the Ex-CRW soldiers did not discuss Kuli’s plans among themselves as the Military was following them and even watching them in 2006 and 2007.

He said he was taken to the Military camp four times between 2006 and 2007 to be told that the Military was watching them and that there were rumours that something was going to happen.

On one such visit, Gadekibau was warned by Colonel Tevita Uluilakeba Mara that if they tried anything, they would be severely punished, worse than the punishment they received after the 2000 attempted Mutiny.

On another trip to the military camp, Gadekibau told the court that fellow accused Barbados Mills told Major Suliano that it was Kuli’s idea to carry out an assassination, not theirs.

Gadekibau says the Major told the former CRW soldiers to find a solution to that problem on their own.

The trial continues this morning before presiding judge Justice Paul Madigan.

Here is a lovely twist to the whole assasination saga ! This statement by Gadekibau has shown a different story altogether. I now understand why he is paranoid and has gone grey overnight.

The plot to kill him or displace him from positions of power could really come from within the military and the PER with all the formulated decrees cannot save him if the danger is right where he lives.

It's time for him to scratch his grey head even more, let him guess who is trying to get rid of him ? Let him have sleepless nights over how safe he is and his family after he tortured and abused members of other families.

Now, the people he has been trying tp please have back-stabbed him by demanding an election, he said "I have just been visiting the country, and nobody told me they wanted an election" Yeah ! use your brain Bai, no one will tell you anything that will get your blood boiling, they only want to tell you what you want to hear.

Enjoy the Sevens in HK, but when you return, the mood in Fiji is slowly changing, this time, it is changing from within.
