The Chairman of the Kadavu Provincial Council said the people of Kadavu in Suva and back on the island will never change their minds on what they think of the Draft People's Charter.Ratu Varani Rayawa said the decision to reject the People's Charter from their last Provincial Council Meeting will never change. He said those back on the island understand this and will never go against the decision made by their chiefs.The NCBBF team is expected to visit Kadavu next month to carry out Consultations on the Draft Charter.
Meanwhile, the Tui Tavua said despite what the perception may be, the Ba province does not support the Draft People’s Charter.According to the chairman of the Ba Provincial Council and the Bose Vanua Ratu Ovini Bokini, they will allow the Charter teams to visit the villages, but the fact remains that they will remain true to the rule of law under the constitution and not the illegal regime.Ratu Bokini said the Bose Vanua will sit in October to elaborate more on the issue because it does not only deal with the nation but the Vanua as well.The Tui Tavua said he has not read the Draft People’s Charter.
