The interim Foreign Affairs Minister is optimistic that elections can be held in March 2009.When asked by Fijivillage on whether the Forum Ministerial Contact Group's expectations of having elections next year was attainable he had this to say.Ratu Epeli added assistance had been given to the Electoral Commission to ensure that the deadline is met.Commission Chairman M.K.Khan yesterday told the Forum Group that a timetable to hold general elections cannot be set at this stage as there is still a lot of work to be done.The Electoral Commission is optimistic that further technical assistance will be forthcoming from the Australian and New Zealand governments.Meanwhile, Ratu Epeli said talks held yesterday with the Forum Contact Group was cordial and discussions revolved around Fiji's progress report towards elections.
