Police files on the killing of rebel soldiers in military custody during the November 2000 mutiny are still open, detectives say.Five rebel soldiers who were members of the now disbanded Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit were killed during the mutiny at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks. Families are, eight years later, wanting to know why police investigations are still continuing.
Police public relations officer Ema Mua said the files remained open and some of the files into the killing of the men were with the Director of Public Prosecution.
"We are still carrying on with investigations into the killings of the CRW soldiers. Some reports are already with the DPP's office," Ms Mua said.
She said police had conducted a thorough investigation into the matter and were now calling on the office of the DPP to take it further.
