FICAC a waste of money, says party
Last updated 5/26/2008

A political party has maintained its stand regarding the establishment of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption saying that it does not serve any purpose. Soqosoqo Duavata Ni Lewenivanua Party national director Peceli Kinivuwai said the establishment of FICAC was unconstitutional and a waste of taxpayers’ money. “FICAC is just trying to duplicate the work of the Fiji Police Force and all it does is character assassination,” he said.
Mr Kinivuwai said taxpayers’ money directed towards the establishment of FICAC should have been directed to other capital projects.
“Why open an office which does not perform any function. “The money directed towards FICAC could have been better spent on other projects that government is struggling to complete.”

FICAC now should be absorbed in Fiji Police force under Director CID

the millions they waste and hefty payout is of less use and only affects targeted and surely lacks investigating skills
