-This is why Voreqe can never be trusted! He is leading an illegal regime pure and simple. The sooner he goes the better for Fiji and its great people.

Those are the words of Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama after certain reports that he may be double minded to have the next elections in March 2009.

Speaking to Village News today, Commodore Bainimarama said some questions have been asked on whether there is a change in the election date. He stresses that he never announced a change in the election date last week.

Bainimarama's said he made a comment that only God knows when the next elections would be held after the Methodist Church Assistant Secretary, Reverand Tuikilakila Waqairatu's comments that everyone should pray for early elections.

INTERIM Prime Minister Commander Voreqe Bainimarama says only God will decide when Fiji will go to the elections, reports Radio Fiji.

Responding to comments by the Methodist Church assistant General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu, Commander Bainimarama said there were some people trying to determine the date for the election and it was causing a lot of unnecessary pressure.

He said the election would only be held after a pathway to progress and stability was achieved for the nation.

If, according to Commander Bainimarama, an election is held next year or in the next ten or fifteen years it would all be part of God's plan.

He said there was no need to pray for elections for next year because it would take place when the people of Fiji are ready to go to the polls.

The commander believes God will prepare the right time for the elections for Fiji and that there was no need to pray.

He has said on numerous occasions that Fiji will only go to the polls when the Peoples Charter was in place.
